Learning outcomes
This semester is dedicated to a study of mathematical tools that are commonly used in applications (Fourier Series and Transform, Laplace Transform, Distributions, holomporphic functions...) , for instance in signal processing.

General objectives:
* to develop abstract reasonning skills (e.g. being able to comprehend the extension of analysis and algebra studied during the first two years to Hilbert spaces / Lebesgue integration / Generalized functions - Dsitributions - holomorphic functions...)
* to understand the foundations of common tools like Fourier Series, Fourier Transform, Laplace Transform
* to be able to analyze a problem (for instance a PDE problem) and find the appropriate method to solve it (Fourier, Laplace, Distributions...)
* to develop rigorous problem solving approaches

Learn the essentials of networks from basic network components to how the Internet connects all over the world.

We trace the evolution of networks and identify the key concepts and functions that form the basis for layered architecture. We introduce examples of protocols and services that are familiar to the students, and we explain how these services are supported by networks. Further, we explain fundamental concepts in digital communication

Through this course, we will learn to handle the basics of network (OSI model layer 1/2/3/4/5+) and associated protocols.
With this knowledge, we will discover the main risks and attacks and how to prevent them.
