• Read, interpret and analyze a plan or industrial drawing
• Understand how a mechanism works
• Design a mechanism in different technologies
• Establish functional specifications
• Propose technical solutions based on specifications
• Lead and manage a project from its initialization to the realization of a prototype
Content
This course is reserved for students who have little or no design before their arrival in the Arts and Crafts course.
The content of this course is a continuation of the Design 1 Upgrade program:
1) Motion transmission function
1.1 Transmission without transformation of motion without modification of angular speed
Couplings, clutches, torque limiters and brakes
1.2 Transmission without transformation of motion with modification of angular speed
Gears and pulley systems
1.3 Transmission with motion transformation
Screw, nut, eccentric, crank rod, cam, rack and pinion system
2) Preliminary design, functional analysis and development of functional specifications
3) Analyze plans

Design 1 upgrade course for semester S5
• Bases and rules of technical drawing and standardization
• Rules for reading an overall drawing
