General objectives
This course introduces the main issues of Sustainable Development (SD) with a specific focus on the role of future engineers and the way of thinking the future responsibilities of individuals and of industry.
Students must be familiarized with the popular issues raised by SD. They must develop their capacity to:
- Discuss and debate about the current SD issues
- Adopt a critical viewpoint on these issues
- Develop a critical presentation on a debating topic: perform some personal research (scientific bibliography); popularization of the subject; and oral presentation.
Content
Part 2:
Presentation by the students of the topics they have chosen during Part 1.
Followed by debates, Q&A.
Discussions about:
- Individual and collective actions in favour of Sustainable Development.
- Expectations from the students regarding their engineering curriculum.
