By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Design a welded frame respecting the welding design rules
- Choose a welding method in function of the material
- Read indication of welding on a technical drawing
- Know the standard method to manufacture a welded frame
- Design in a CAD software a welded frame,
- Indicate welding symbols on a technical drawing

- Introduction to welding:
- Definition
- Weldability of materials
- Methods of welding: Gaz welding, arc welding, MIG, TIG,...
- Indication of welding on technical drawing
- Rules in mechanical design
- Use of standard profiles:
- Cutting
- Laser cutting
- Roll bending
- Sheet metal work:
- Cutting: shearing, plasma, laser, water jet, punching
- Bending
- Roll bending
- Stamping
- Corrosion prevention
- Use of CREO Parametric
- CAD project
