General objectives
The Innovation Project is a multidisciplinary teamwork experience where students from various engineering fields collaborate on a product innovation. Spanning two semesters, the project follows all phases of an R&D process—from opportunity analysis to technical development.

By the end of this phase, students will be able to:
Translate user needs and marketing insights into clear product requirements
Conduct both functional and interactional analyses of their product concept
Define usage scenarios and usability criteria based on target user profiles
Specify functional and non-functional requirements using measurable indicators
Integrate Human Factors principles to account for user capabilities and limitations
Identify contextual constraints and turn user pain points into innovation opportunities
Content
Functional Analysis
- Clarification of objectives
- Definition of product life cycle and key life phases
- Environmental diagrams for each key phase
- Functional diagnosis
- Function table with measurable criteria and performance targets

Interactional Analysis
- Detailed use cases and justified hypotheses
- Prioritization of non-functional criteria (usability, ergonomics, etc.)
- Specification of context of use and constraints
Corequis
Marketing analysis validated
