General objectives
At the end of this course, students will be able to demonstrate understanding of the following concepts :
- The purpose and organization of a financial system
- Why and how countries regulate the financial sector
- The goals, means, and challenges of central banks and monetary policy

They will also be able to:
- Define key concepts and describe the models and methods used in economic analysis.
- Discuss the impact of economics on geopolitical issues.
- Incorporate basic economic knowledge into decision making
Content
This course introduces students to the fundamentals of economic analysis and reasoning, and also examines financial systems from the perspective of both financial and economic stability. It will focus on the role of central banks and monetary policy, both in normal times and in financial crises, in order to help students understand the impact of the global and national economies on companies, organizations, and individuals.
