Learning Outcomes |

- convert units used in solid mechanics and fluid mechanics - check the homogeneity of formulas used in solid mechanics and fluid mechanics or determine the unit of a result --perform correct numerical applications from a formula and provided data - error-free development of analytical calculations on a few lines - carry out limited developments from a mathematical expression or an equation - use derivatives in order to determine the variation of a result according to the variations of the data of the calculation - formulate the integral corresponding to the calculation of a geometric characteristic of a curve, a surface or a volume - use the Fresnel representation to determine the result of a sum of sinusoidal functions - use complex numbers to determine the expression for the electrical impedance of a circuit comprising RLCs in series or in parallel |
Content |

Six points are addressed: - units, - digital applications, - derivatives, - limited developments, - Fresnel representation - complex numbers. For each of these points, students work autonomously from course materials and worksheets for which corrections are given. TThese work sessions are scheduled in the timetable. A teacher is present during these sessions to answer students' questions. |

N° | Nature | Coefficient | Observable objectives |
1 | Before the mathematics course, the students are subjected to a positioning test comprising exercises with answers in one case and multiple choice questions. They are asked : - to determine if a formula is homogeneous, - to obtain a numerical result, - to use mathematical tools such as: limited developments, integrals, complex numbers. Maximum duration: 2 hours | 1 | All the Learning Outcomes |
2 | At the end of the Mathematics course, the students' abilities are assessed on all the points covered by means of exercises with answer in one box and multiple choice questions. Maximum duration: 2 hours | 1 | All the Learning Outcomes. |
