Learning Outcomes |
---|
Basic knowledge concerning the location, the operating principle and the choice of rotodynamic pumps in a hydraulic network, modelling a network (friction and minor losses, altitude rise), handling correctly the valve coefficients, identifying the type of waterhammer (mass or wave) present in the pipes, to assess the amplitudes of pressure variations and to propose adequate means limiting the transient effects. |
Content |
---|
Hydraulic networks (friction and minor losses, altitude rise, pipes in parallel and / or in series), operating principle of rotodynamic pumps (generality, constitution, pump curves, pump coupling, operating point, specific speed, similarity, cavitation, adaptation of the operating point), control valve (types of valves, valve coefficients), transient phenomena in pipes (generalized equations of transient flows, waterhammers, means of protection). |
